The words and phrases above are so commonly used that I can remember now saying them quite often. Let me explain, when I was in the second grade I came down with a disease that crippled me to where I could not walk for 6 months. But you know what, there was miracle that happened I walked again one day. But it was the power of repeating similar words that we all pretty much use in everyday conversation in a variety words and phrases. Also the huge impact that visualization produced when harnessed. Especially now in the social networks, videos and blogs and articles that are so prevalent across the internet. I can remember lying in bed gazing out a small window at my friends as they ran, laughed, were playing just like I used to. Nobody taught me these things but I would say to myself, "I can do that" I can laugh, I can play all those games, I can run faster than anyone...That one became my favorite, I must of said "I can run" consciously and subconsciously a 1000 times a day.... I would naturally make a fun game out of it . Repeating the phrases like "I can be anything I want" I can Be fast, I can play, I can be your friend, I can help, I can dig that hole, I can play baseball, or any sport. It was a motivational happening but at that time, I didn't know that type of language. I had to keep it simple, heck I was only a second grader. Other times I would use the words you, us, them, we, they, she, he, you can to, yes you can do it, you can be anything, whatever you want you can be it. Funny things began to happen, I didn't really notice any one in my family when they would say a few negative things like, "why do you keep telling yourself those lies? You'll never walk again" I won't get into that but will say, I had enough of it from being confided to small spaces and often being by myself ....You all know that when we watch young kids play and how they actually are in the minds and bodies and really believe they are the person there acting out....Its obvious when the little girl is making breakfast or changing the babies diapers, or even throwing a football that she is in her own imaginative world. It feels just like being those figures they portray. Little boys often, pretend they are race car drivers, rurrrunnnn...they got their hands on an imaginary wheel, either weaving around the house or outside, sometimes crashing and sometimes they cross the finish line and carry the flag for another lap. Yes boys are noted more for just making noises where as little girls are more prone to have more traits of communication in there childhood years.
Back to my story; Well try to visualize yourself walking, walking fast, slowly running and running fast. But do it paralyzed laying flat on your back...Then imagine your in a running competition and its a race where you dash to the finish line to see who is the fastest runner. If you can fathom laying around for 6 months with nothing better to do than repeat words and phrases like, "I can run faster than anyone" I Can Be the fastest, I can, I know I Can.... At the same time
I would picture in my brain all the details of the school playground and everywhere I could get out and stretch my legs and imagine I could fly.... It felt like flying, remember I am only 7 years old. Its to bad most people lose thier sense of imagination the older they get... To close, I did eventually walk and I did run....True Story, I could run faster and longer than any kid in the second grade classes at my school, about 120 kids. If I could change or give a gift to the World it would be the power of belief and that you and I Can Be ...... _______. Other words fill in the blank with what you want to be. And do it as a class, teach it, bring it out in groups and individual settings, and provide the evidence...which speaks for itself in 1000's of miracles like mine... You know its the Secret that needs to be known.
